The force.
What comes to mind with just that simple line? Star Wars of course but what else? The realism community? Maybe to those of us deeply involved with that, but no more then likely it's the force from the Star Wars movies. While that is in fact what our view of the force comes from it is not however the defining of the force that I (and perhaps others hold dear).
Now I will not speak of what others may hold as true to themselves, as the entire purpose of the Shadowist Order is to focus more on helping you refine your own view of the force without strongly enforcing a set view. So with that in mind I ask you to read my view on what I view the force to really be.
-----------------------------------
The force? Is it as grand and easy to see as Lucas made it in the films? Whenever I ask myself that question my mind always answers no, the force is much more subtle. It's those moments when our emotions or circumstances push us beyond our limits and indeed the limits of our inner strength as well. Yet still we manage to succeed even then and afterwards we wonder how we did so. In my eyes we borrow from the ambient energy around us, the pool of surplus energy that coats our planet.
Energy that we can not tap into as a fuel, I am of course referring to what can be thought of as the excess willpower and mental energy of everything that has lived, will live and is alive. In my eyes that is what the force is, now were you to ask me "Does that not mean you don't believe in gods or goddesses?" I would answer that yes I do believe but that is not the subject here.
So we know that I view the energy around us as the force. It is my belief that we tap into this without thinking and surplus all limits on our bodies. However given the strain this places on us we never do so for long, I do think that with training we can learn to tap into this energy around us and utilise it. Not for long durations however but for long enough to briefly do something amazing.
Something we already do without realising. One of my main foundations with my belief is a saying that I once heard or was told.
Now I could ramble on for even longer with this but however I would to end here. And instead ask you to create your own thread here with your view of the force. How is it that you perceive the force?

"With training the human body can do almost anything."
